Coming later this year (2008) is the new book by Loyd Auerbach, to be published by Atriad Press.

HAUNTED BY CHOCOLATE: How to Go from Chocoholic to Chocolate Gourmet is a book for anyone who likes chocolate and wants to move into the growing world of exceptional chocolates, but doesn't quite know where to start.

It's also a book for people who love chocolate, may know something about it, and want to know more.

Finally, it's a book for people who want to "meet" a number of the people who make the substance they love, as this book will contain visits with several chocolate makers. Loyd Auerbach interviewed them about their perspectives on making chocolate, on trends in the industry, and mainly about their own love for the dark stuff.

Loyd Auerbach is not from within the food industry -- Google him and you'll learn that his expertise is in the world of psychic phenomena. But his "religion" is Foodhism -- a term that was coined at a Thanksgiving Dinner hosted by he and his wife several years ago. HAUNTED BY CHOCOLATE is an expression of his Foodhist interests.

As part of his research (a tough job, but someone had to do it), he began hosting chocolate tastings. As a wine aficionado, he has attended numerous wine tastings at wineries and private events. Chocolate tasting, he thought, could be even more fun and quite tasty. He developed a basic chocolate tasting program (visit the TASTINGS page) which can be tailored in numerous ways.

The purpose of this website is to support Loyd's vision of bringing chocolate to the masses -- you might say to preach the chocolate gospel, and especially to turn people to the dark side (of chocolate).

Currently, much of this site is under development and construction. It will soon include resources for those who want to know more about chocolate, excerpts of interview with chocolate makers and marketers, a chocolate blog, and more.

Chocolate... The word itself conjures up images, smells, associations to our memories and of course, taste. When most people hear the word, they smile. When they get a piece of good chocolate, they melt.
